Firstly, presentation. Making sure your car has visual appeal will almost always guarantee a good price. If people can see that the outside is all washed and gleaming with polish, they will think the car has been well-looked after and so will be a good buy. The inside should also be taken care of. Vacuum it out and if the seats are shabby, buy some cheap seat covers for them. Wash and polish the windows, mirrors and dashboard too, as well as the inside of the doors. Timing. Timing is important when selling your car. If you don’t want the cost of registering it again, be sure that there are still several months of rego current on your car. Used car sales are much higher for those cars with plenty of rego still on them compared to those with little. Photographs. If your chosen used car sales medium required photographs, make sure you take them straight after that wash and polish – and in good light. But the background is just as important as the car itself. If you leave a whole lot of rubbish or a broken down shed in the background it will put people off buying the car. Once you have a nice looking car at a decent price it won’t be long before that sale drops into place.
